Waste heat recovery can improve the overall efficiency of a heating and cooling system when there is a simultaneous demand for hot water generation and space cooing. Rather than reject heat to atmosphere waste heat is reclaimed and used for other building services, typically hot water.

The recovered energy can offset and is some cases completely replace boiler operation, saving on both CAPEX and OPEX. Waste heat recovery  chillers increase the overall efficiency of the water chilling process and where there is a large demand for onsite hot water such as in a gymnasium, hospital, apartments or aquatic centre, financial paybacks can be achieved in short time frames.
